Home remapping

I find it a bit tricky to remap the entire house. Have mapped it twice now, but only achieved it via trials and errors.

The “Fast Map” only maps one room, then sometimes it maps other rooms, mapping out the entire apartment.

I would like to know how exactly to:

1. Map just a room

2. Map the entire apartment.
